Animal Update
Spirit Dancer and her Herd
With understanding animals are used to being outside, since they've evolved that way, we've learned to have the herd outside more. Even though Spirit's herd has a barn as well as blankets for the very cold weather, grazing and being outside is best for them. It helps maintain their health.
Spirit Dancer as always loves to Dance. She will follow Missa around and dance, bow and run with Missa, as they enjoy the connection they share.

Buddy has now gone to live with his very own girl. He gets to help her as she grows up and she gets to help him as he grows old. It is a sweet fit.

Toto
Is a miniature bull (on the right) who is now 2 years old and a full fledged bull. We are currently looking for a forever home for the sweet bottle baby, where he can have a girlfriend or two. Dutch (on the left) is no longer with us.

Goats
Clara loves to play every day. The goats get on their front knees and share hay through the gate with Toto. Tails in the air wagging.

Smudge and Opie
Opie, the sleek Panther, and Smudge, the fluffy Lion! The boys are over two years old now, and rule the forest. Mice and Voles beware! They also help at feeding time, making circuits thru the barn to check for critters, testing the water troughs (sometimes falling in), and making sure the herd is ready to meet the day. Often they stay in the barn, nestling in the hay for a while, out of the rain. Then, they will come in at night and snuggle.

Forest Animals
The forest animals that are not hibernating, have been out and about. In addition to the flocks of birds, the ground level animals are busy using the trails. We are fortunate to capture some on trail cams. We will happily share slide shows during your visit.

If you fear encountering forest animals then please whistle or sing to let them know you are coming their way. Thank you. |
